There have been reports from several SUNY campuses about receiving a fraudulent message similar to below sample.
The subject contains “ Faculty." It also invites you to click a link to read your messages.Learning and you have new course work from
If you receive this message or anything similar, you should delete the message immediately.
If an end user does click on the link, it may result in the email account or computer being compromised.
Subject: You have two important course work from faculty administrator
Dear user : firstname.lastname@example.org
You have two important course work on your blackboard area from your Faculty Administrator
Click the below URL to view your messages.
Link Example: email@example.com.
Note : The link above will be inactive after 10 minutes when mail has been read.
ITS staff requests your assistance in combating ongoing schemes and reminds you not respond to any messages that come from an unfamiliar source.
The Open SUNY HelpDesk will be closed on Labor Day, Monday September 7th, 2015.
Weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday remain the same. Requests received when the HelpDesk is closed will be responded to during open office hours on Tuesday.
